INFORMATION, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE (IAG)

Information, advice and Guidance (IAG) is a project delivered by volunteers at Khidmat Centre. The project aim is to assist and empower community to access the services, which they are unable to reach due to either language difficulty or lack of knowledge by;

  • Provide information on how to claim various benefits.
  • Assist individual with their queries
  • Provide advocacy when needed to individuals
  • Assist with phone calls, form filling and interpretation
  • Signposting to other service providers

SHCF VOLUNTEERING

SHCF runs an active volunteering programme to help people aged 18+ to gain experience and interpersonal skills in order to enhance their employment prospect. The volunteering programme helps to choose hours that suite the lifestyle and personal commitments of individual.

Volunteers are heart of our service and you can make a difference.

LEGAL ADVICE

SHCF has arranged with a Professional Solicitor to attend SHCF, Khidmat Centre on every Wednesday from 13.00pm to 14.30. The Solicitor provides free legal advice to residents surrounding and living in the shcf catchment area.

FRIEND OF SMALL HEATH PARK

Friends of Small Heath Park (FOSHP) is a project run by volunteers to improve the park and the parks facilities by working in partnership with the Local Authority and other Service Providers to make better use of the park.

The Aim of the Project is to;

  • Refurbish Park lodge for community use
  • Maintain Mughal garden
  • Plant more trees in partnership with Tree Trust and BOSF
  • Monitor Park maintenance contract
  • Work with local Councillors and residents to improve our park.

KHIDMAT CENTRE CYCLE HUB

SHCF in partnership with Friends of Small Heath Park have aquired some Bicycles from Birmingham City Council and has created a Bike hub. The Bikes are for the local residents use to improve their wellbeing. The bikes are also availble for those who want to hire them. FOSHP arranges group rides in the park on regular basis.
